Offshore Equipment Acceptance Test for Shanghai Electric’s “ZHI ZHEN 100”
Shanghai Electric’s cutting-edge vessel, the Ulstein-designed SX195 CSOV “ZHI ZHEN 100,” has achieved a significant milestone. On April 11th, 2024, after a 32-hour trial, the vessel successfully completed its Offshore Equipment Acceptance Test (OEAT) at the ZPMC yard.

    Been running some loads to this ship in port fourchon, the tower isnt on it anymore but its cool to see videos of it in action. Exterior still looks like new 9 years later!

    Nothing about this ship is clean if your still using bunker fuel in your engine. This stuff is so dirty it makes any ship running from it obsolete and not worth putting to sea. Shit fuel, shit ship.

      Hi Marcio, Even though the ULSTEIN X-BOW(r) is designed primarily for larger vessels and certain speeds, it is absolutely possible to design a version that would work well for a 20m vessel depending on the operational profile.

    Could a catamaran or trimaran hull be made with this bow design?! Do you have any such projects? Could you make a fun presentation video discussing and presenting advantages and disadvantages?! I think many will enjoy such fantasy discussion. 2022 YT is more about engaging with people rather than presenting work as it was a decade ago. Hopefully some cool nice videos will be made PS: Thank you for the 3d rendering showcase, it's so nice to look at the ship. Also, as a fun idea for your specialist designers, if we were to think of WW2 and the batleships and battlecruisers of that era, it would be interesting if someone could create a rough model if this bow design could be applied to such a vessel. Also if a multihull design could be made a battleship. Thank you,

      Thanks for your feedback and questions. We are continuously working to develop our ship designs and segments. Since 2015, we've moved from offshore O&G towards offshore renewables, fisheries, cruise, RoPax, yacht - and the list keeps expanding. Hull innovations are also a focus area. Keep posted, follow us on social media, and perhaps a fantasy discussion will be the next thing to pop up there :)

      @@Ulstein-Group Thank you for your reply. It is an interesting design and it will be amazing if some of the naval architects discuss various notions and engage with the general public. For example here is a quite an old video that youtube suggested me with one of the vessels in high seas, and how well it handles.       After the downturn in the Oil & Gas market in 2014, the PX121 PSV designs have proven their flexibility and have been converted to several other segments. The Blue Fighter (and sister vessel Blue Prosper) have recently (Jan 2022) been redesigned and converted to ERRVs (Emergency Response Rescue Vessels) at Ulstein Verft: ulstein.com/news/delivery-of-the-errv-vessel-esvagt-heidi

    How would this design work on warships? I can envision this design incorporated into a large ship like an aircraft carrier, tanker, or naval supply ships, buy I'm nor sure about smaller ships like destroyers. Anything that would help reduce man's fragility in storms at sea is greatly appreciated. Congratulations Ulstein.

    Do they ever build this style of vessel with the wheel house down the back? That is the most stable part of the vessel.

      The Blue Fighter PX121 platform supply vessel was developed to service the North Sea oil installations, transporting liquids, goods and equipment in storage tanks under deck or on the work deck. The majority of power is in the aft part of the vessel, so a PSV will typically operate with its back to the rig. With the wheelhouse in the front, the vessel avoids any danger of hitting the rig. The Blue Fighter is one of two PX121 vessels which are now undergoing conversion from a PSV to a battery hybrid ERRV vessel, see our homepage ulstein.com

    Spol meg tilbake til jeg kjørte Norges største fagverkstårnkran lekter montert og denn var med skrue for og heve og senke bommen og du måtte smøre skruen med fettbøtta og kost for skruen var så stor og krana var vell 50 meter høy montert på lekter vaier drift på kloa jeg kjørte denn krana i vennesund 8920 sømna Det da den gangen var noe av det største som gikk og få tak på og ja tilogmed fine spisebrakker nedi lekteren under krana tilogmed det har mann holtpå med som meg mitt utti havet mener det var Egon som kjøpte krana og den ble slept til en øy utenfor brønøysund på. Sine gamle dager menn fungerte fint som fan til og mudre med i vennesund i vertfall vorr mange i verden har kjørt en slik fagverkskran i Norge på 1990 tallet? Og du satt lankt oppe i hytta og kjørte og nor skruen gikk tårr så hyla det noe inni hælvete menn fan så moro.

    I wonder if it would be a good crab fishing vessel in the Bering Sea. Probably quite a bit bigger than the boats seen on deadliest catch, but I'm sure the model design could be scaled down a little.
